First off I have to say, lately I have been getting several blog ideas pop in my head but I never have time to sit down and write them nor can I take notes for later use because usually I am not near a pen and paper. I do have a voice recorder but when I stopped getting ideas, I stopped carrying it around with me. I guess I should star doing so because it's hard to keep track of everything I think of to write about. Plus, ideas tend to fall out of my head just as quick as they come in, Ugh.
Anyways, I was watching a video on YouTube by the Top 5's channel. This week he was talking about possible life on other planets. It got me thinking.
Yes I've always believed that there is other life forms on other planets, possibly humans or other creatures. There is just no way that we are alone in the universe considering how big it is. Whether they are some kind of alien creature or something else is certainly unknown.
When the guy inn the video was talking about ice planets and how scientist think there is water underneath, that's when I really think there is life forms on those moons/planets. How can there not? There is always some kind of weird life forms in water, even in the deep, dark, cold waters here on earth so why not on other planets?
Then there are the other planets, not just in our solar system. I know firery and gassy planets can't sustain life but what if they do have some kind of life form that changes how we think how life works? Or even on the super icy planets.
I'm sure there are other planets that are like earth, I mean they have discovered at least two that I know of. I would be surprised if there was no life forms of any kind on them.
I like to think there are planets like ours that have other humans or human like beings living their life like us. Although I hope they are a lot more respectful towards one another, not racist, not judgmental, no bullies etc. Or they could be just all about killing each other and are crazy dangerous lunatics.
I really wish we could get Star Trek technology already and have ships that fly to other planets and galaxies. Then we could really explore some of the planets and moons. Now we can only go so far with a space shuttle, probes etc and they can take forever to get somewhere. I'm sure we'll get there someday.

Bullies And What We Can Do
I think I might have mentioned my feelings about this issue before but I don't think I have written an actual blog about it. It sickens me every time I hear about bulling. I know there is nothing anybody can do to actually stop it from happening. As long as there are people, there will be bullies. What we can do is make it happen less, teach our kids to tell until someone listens when they are being bullied and teach our kids to not be bullied.
When kids/teens bully other either in person or on-line, it's a form of assault and harassment. In the adult world, these actions are a crime. So why aren't they in the world of kids and teens? I think this is one of the key things to reducing these violent acts. We want to give kids a light punishment thinking that will work, when has it? Suspending a kid, expelling them, detention does not work. So they get out of school, they don't care enough about school to have that be a punishment.
When kids bully, they need to be punished by the law. The punishment will depend on the severe of the act. It can start from a fine and community service to spending some time in juvenile hall. This shouldn't happen just when a parent decides to press charges. If there is proof of it happening, charges need to be pressed no matter what. This needs to start happening even if done through social media.
Stop blaming the victim. Way too many times the victim gets blamed mostly by school officials and sometimes they bully a kid more by saying it's their fault, maybe they should stop...fill in the blank. Then there are times when the victim also gets suspended etc. What good does that do?
If a victim stands up for themselves and fights back, no they shouldn't get punished. It has to be proven who started it etc but the victim should never be punished for defending themselves. This reason and the reasons above are why victims tend not to tell people and tend not to fight back. What does this teach them?
When kids feel helpless, they turn to drugs, drinking, self harm, killing themselves or committing a violent act against a school. They feel at a loss and that no one will help or protect them so they turn to other means. I think this is why we have seen a rise in this stuff, kids are not being listened to. Yes things like this didn't happen much in the 70's, 80's and before then but things back then were hush hush, it was "the norm".
Another thing that needs to happen is to hold the schools responsible when they don't do anything. Too many schools give stupid reasons for not doing anything or a "I don't know". It's not enough. Schools need to have something happen every time they don't do something when they know a kids is being bullied. If it's just a teacher that knows and doesn't do anything and/or also becomes a bully, they need to be held responsible too.
Today there are so many ways kids can reach out and we know it's not the norm and yet still nothing gets done. It's very very sad. So when are we going to start taking action? When is our government officials going to start making tougher laws? Once we start showing our kids we are there for them and will protect them, maybe then they will start coming forward more and feel the need to commit certain acts because the feel alone, lost and unheard. When a kid reports being bullied, things need to be documented for proof.
If I knew how to REALLY voice all of this and try to get something done about it, I would (it doesn't help that I have anxiety/social anxiety). All I know is, we need to do better for our kids and we need to take real action.

I Love Living In The Future, The Past Is great Too Part 1
I love living in the future, the past was great too. You can't talk about the future without talking about the past. I am a kid from the 70's and 80's. We were forced to use our imaginations, had to come up with games to play outside or at least play ones that were around for a long time but has changed a little when my generation started playing them. There was no video game systems (at least at first), no home computers and not even cable. I only had 6 tv channels: channel 2, 13/3/31 (whichever it was in the area), channel 4, 7, 9 and PBS.
Our cartoons and kid shows were some that our parents grew up with and some were not; Bugs Bunny, Scooby-doo, Superfriends, Spider-Man, Batman, Mr Rogers, School house rock, electric company, sesame street, Tom and Jerry and more.
We didn't have cell phones so if we wanted to call home or if our parents wanted to get a hold of us, there was the friend's parents phones. Every phone had a cord until the 80's. Even for awhile there were no video tapes to watch your favorite movies. If you missed your favorite tv show, you were screwed. Toys were made so much better than what they are today. You had to use a payphone if you needed to make a call when you weren't home. You better made sure you had change, the right amount and extra for when time ran out and you had to put in more money.
You had to call the operator '0' to connect to the police, ambulance or firemen. You could also call a number to tell you the time. The operator had their hands full because they either connected you to any emergency person or helped you find a phone number or address to a place or person. We also had the yellow and white pages to look up numbers and addresses to people and businesses.
If you wanted or needed to look up information on a state or animal, you had to go to the library and check out books or read an encyclopedia. You had to look up how to spell words in a dictionary. At the library, you had to search through index cards that had their books on file just so you could know if they carried that book.
There were pen pals that you could right to and have it take for ever for that letter to get to them through the mail and for you to get a response.
We would listen to our records all day and try to record our favorite songs from the radio hoping the DJ wouldn't talk over them. We could place more than one 45' on our record players at the same time with an arm holding them up then drop down one at a time when the 45' was done playing. We had to get up to change the channel on the tv and on our radios. We couldn't carry our music with us unless it was just a radio (at least for awhile).
We eventually got what was called walkman's and boom boxes. So now we could carry our favorite music with us. That was pretty cool to experience for the first time.
Then came the video games like Atari and Nintendo, VCR's and cable. I remember when VCR's first came out and the video store Blockbusters came to our area. VHS and Beta were in a war, VHS won. I thought it was the coolest thing to be able to rent or buy your favorite movies and watch them any time.
Cable tv was freakin' awesome. There were just a few movie channels: HBO, Showtime, Playboy and at some point Cinamax. There were a few other channels but none too interesting to me. Then came Nickelodeon with tv shows like 'You can't do that on television' where they would slime people. At some point we got MTV were they played music videos. It was so cool to see your favorite artist bring their songs to life on the screen. The cable box was literally a box with buttons and you had to switch the buttons to the channel you wanted (see photo below). You got a cable tv guide in the mail that lasted for a month telling you what was going to be on the cable channels. I couldn't wait to go through it and marked which movies I wanted to discover for that month.
Mtv really kicked in when Michael Jackson came out with some really cool videos and took them to a different level. I used to watch Mtv all day, dancing and singing to my favorite songs. Other people tried to come up with other music channels like on the weekends there was Night Tracks late at night on one of the regular tv channels. Then came VH1 with their music videos all day long. I remember seeing 'Thriller' for the very first time. I got a rug burn on me knee because I skidded on the carpet trying to get to the front room in time when I heard it coming on.
When it came to video games, I never had an Atari but my mom's friend at the time would bring it over so I could play centipede. I eventually got the Nintendo and I still have it and it works. Since I couldn't play outside much due to my asthma, this was great for me. I would play for hours trying to beat my games. It sucked that I had to start all over again if I turned the game off because there was no such thing as saving your game.
At some point, remotes started to come about. No more getting up to turn on your tv, to change the channel or to operate the radio on your stereo. Another great invention. Cable finally got rid of their channel boxes and came out with their own remote. Now a household had at least 3 remotes because there was no universal remote.
Cameras had film. There was the 110, 35mm and at some point Polaroid. The flashes on the cameras went from one flash cube that was done for with one shot to multiply flash bulbs that you had to attach to your camera. Once that set of flash bulbs were done, you had to get another flash bulb set. You only had a certain number of pictures you could take on each roll of film and you had to make sure you got the right kind of film for the right kind photos you were taking (like indoor, outdoor, sunny or nighttime). 200, 400 and 800 where the ones you had to know to get. You couldn't see your photos until you got them from the lab about a week later (until the instant camera came out). I remember when Kodak first came out with same day picture return then moved to 1 hour.
Fast forward to today. So much has changed in the 45 years I have been alive. I can't even imagine how my parents and grandparents (if they were still alive) feel seeing all the changes the world has gone through since they have been alive.
I didn't expect for this blog to be as long as it is. I just expected to write about living in the future. Then I realized I needed to start with the past. I now have to split this into 2 parts. This first part has come to an end but here is part 2: Click Here
I Love Living In The Future, The past Was Great Too Part 2
So now we live in the future. Records and tapes have turned into cd's. Albums are making a slow comeback but they are not as big back in the day. The cd's are now turning into all digital. You can't record from the radio but you can buy single songs for a buck (and some just steal the songs :/ ). You can carry your songs anywhere on an ipod (which are now becoming extinct) or just on your phone (phone stuff will come later). You used to be able to buy blank cd's to put pictures, music etc on but that too is going away. The parts I like: I can buy songs buy themselves for a buck and carry around a small device to listen to them. Cd's are way better than tapes. You can find almost any song to buy on the web, even rare and old ones. I hate; blank cd's are going away (I still use them for my photos and music I buy). I still want that physical copy especially if something happens to the devices, I still have the copy.
Video games have come a long way. I love that you can save your progress, there are story lines and the graphics are amazing. I wish they would re-boot the classics but make it to where you can save your progress. But then yet, that is part of the fun of the classics. The newer video games also let you have multi players even if the other players are in another country. How freakin' cool is that!
Cable tv has come a long way. There are so many channels that it's a little too much and there is still nothing good on. There are multiple movie channels which is great but at the same time, who needs that many? I love having remotes, that you can have 1 remote for both the tv and cable and we can record tv shows and even pause live tv. No more bulky video tapes but then you can't keep certain tv programs forever. There are tv shows on dvd's which is awesome especially the classic shows.
One thing I don't like about the children's shows and channels, they are not as good as they used to be. The Disney channel used to be full over Disney cartoon both new and classics with a little mix of other stuff. I miss that. The different Mtv's and VH1's no longer show music videos except maybe real late at night and it's not even good ones. I miss the video channels.
Getting information is so much easier and quicker and looking to see if the library has a book is so much faster. I love being able to find out about practically anything just by punching a few key strokes. Some stuff might be wrong but the fact you can look up anything in seconds is amazing. Watching an old tv show and want to know what happened to them? Ask Google. Need to know the nearest location of your favorite store, eatery etc, look it up on the net. So much better than flipping through a phone book, trying to read the small words.
This brings me to the home computer and the Internet. There is so much good that has come out of a home computer, I don't even know where to start. You can watch movies and tv shows on-line, connect to your favorite star through twitter, facebook etc, talk to someone on the other side of the planet in real time, hell even do a video chat with someone so you can see them. Send messages/letters right away through email and have that person get it within seconds. Send and share photos with loved ones. The outlet to be creative is so big. You can post stories, poems, blogs, make videos. Film makers can make their stuff and put it on youtube. You can watch just about any music on youtube. I can go on about how great the Internet is but it's endless.
Of course there is a downside to the web that wouldn't be available if we lived like yesterday. On-line bullying, the deep web, scammers, easier to steal someone's info, endless child predators have more access and can share with each other. The web makes it easier for us to be assholes to each other.
The other good thing about the net, songs etc, there are more ways to get help with depression, suicide, to reach out to others when you are in pain, for strangers to be nice to one another in time of need, easier to donate money. There are more hot lines to call and a lot more songs about how one is special, strong and good. Famous people can reach out to their fans and even be there if a fan is going through something bad. There was none of that when I was growing up. I wish there was more positive out there when I was a kid, it could of helped me get through things.
Cameras today are so much better. You can take hundreds of photos before running out of space. You can see your photos right there to see if it came out and re-take it if it didn't. You can edit your photos on your computer and even add some cool effects. No more dealing with bulky flash bulbs (unless you are a pro but that doesn't count in this). No more dealing with the pesky rolls of film. No more worrying if the photo lab is going to lose or fuck up your photos.
Phones, oh my God have they come a long way. Just as little as 10-15 years ago phones have become more advance. You can carry one with you, take photos with it, get on-line with it and now you can even take a photo of your check to deposit it in the bank. At some stores (like Sam's club), you can scan your items as you put them in the cart, pay for it from your phone and walk out with a receipt on your phone. No waiting in long as lines. You can also have a device attached to your phone to swipe someone's credit/debit card if they are buying something from you. How freaking cool is that!
The past was pretty cool and in someways better but the future is pretty awesome. So much can happen that couldn't be done before. There is the bad but bad will always come with the good. Can't wait to see what is in the near and distance future (also kinda scared of some of it). As things get better and easier, it comes with a price where we also have to do more to protect ourselves.
Sometimes things happen when I am out and about in the world and I just sit there and go, "damn, I love living in the future."

Our Freedom
For this blog, I was inspired by a friend of mine. She went to Japan for a year through a program where she helps kids/people with language. She posts updates about her adventures there. This is the second time she has been there. She has also talked about some of the cultural differences like how they look at tattoos differently there and usually (not all but I guess a lot) if someone has one, it might mean they are in some kind of mob/gang so it's still seen as not that great to have one. Some people in Japan may want to get a tattoo but they are afraid to since there is a bad stigma about it.
One of the post I read today was about their pride fest. Yes apparently they have one but it's really different. It isn't huge crowds like it is here. That is pretty much the only place one can express themselves but still not completely. Some hide behind masks. At their pride there are 3 different groups that people get into like who doesn't care if their photo is taken, ones who don't want their photo taken and ones who dress up.
There still wasn't a lot of support since it is still looked down upon even though they have their version of a pride fest. Their parade is more of a march along the side of the road while cars are still going by. There were welcomes from passerby but it still is very different from what we experience here in the US. They may have freedoms there but not completely if they can't be who they are.
This got me thinking and wanting to write. Here in the US, we have freedoms. The freedom to say what we want, to dress how we want, to be who we are. We don't have to live in fear and shut down everything about ourselves. Yes we still have fear because for some reason there are people out there who bully, discriminate, have hate and create violence all because they don't like certain things. The catch, they have the freedom to express their hate (within the laws), we still have the freedom to be who we are.
We have forgotten that others are not so lucky. We have the freedom to kneel during the national anthem, to bare arms, to speak out when we don't like something, to be gay etc, to dress the way we want, to wear tattoos, to have our hair they way we want, marry who we want and so much more. Our soldiers fight for our freedoms.
We are so very lucky to have them. To live in a place where we can be ourselves without the worry of getting put in prison or killed just for simple little things. Women have the same rights as men where in other places they have next to none.
We sit here and argue and fight with each about if it's wrong for a football player to kneel during the anthem. Whether we think it's right or wrong, they have the right. We fight and argue about gun control. Even though there should be some kind of gun laws, them being too strict doesn't do a damn thing except take our rights away. We have the right to bare arms. To protect our family (I will save my thoughts on guns for another blog). We have the right to marry who we love. Despite if one thinks it's wrong, as humans, we have and deserve that right. We have the right to say what's on our minds even if it's bad things about our government or hate speech. We have the right.
When I hear people in their government offices debating and making laws that will take some our freedoms away just because THEY don't agree with something, it makes me sick. Our freedoms shouldn't be taken away just because someone in the oval office thinks it's immoral.
To everyone in the government, present and future: Just because you don't like something or don't agree with something, it doesn't give you the moral human right to take that freedom from everyone else. Laws should be made (some anyways) by what is human morally right, not by opinion.
We as the people need to make sure our government doesn't take our freedoms away. Even if we don't like something and think it's wrong, it doesn't mean everyone else needs to live that way. Rights/freedoms should never be taken away based on opinions. NEVER! We need to make sure we continue to live in a country where we are free. Sure we need laws to keep people in line and to take care of the bad people, I get that.
Please people, for heaven's sake, stop fighting over stupid things. We can disagree on something but always remember, WE HAVE THE FREEDOM, WE HAVE THE RIGHT. Let the football players kneel if they choose to, let someone in the army no matter their sexual orientation, let someone marry the person they love regardless on the sex, let everyone have the same rights, let women choose what they want/need to do with their own bodies. We need to continue to fight for freedoms and our rights even if we don't like some of those things. It's the human thing to do. We need to realize how good we have it, be thankful for it, fight for it.

Why Do We Come Out?
I was sitting here in my room, watching old youtube clips of Ellen DeGeneres coming out and/or speaking about it. I then asked myself, why do we have to come out? Why not just be who we are. Why can't we just love who we love and/or be who we are and not have to worry about coming out? Why do others wonder and feel they have to know who we love or the kind of lifestyle we live or what has happened to us?
Why do other people get surprised when we mention the kind of person we are? Why are they surprised about some of the things we have been through? Why do we feel the need to even mention it? Why can't we just talk about who we are like we talk about other things without someone batting an eye lash? Why can't we just be open about things without having to come out? Hell, why do some people judge even if they don't agree? One doesn't have to agree with something and still not judge.
Why can't we just be who we are without fear? It's very sad and depressing that we have to hide from ourselves and one another. It's sad that we have to "come out" as being who we are because everything is such a secret and looked down on. Every single one of us has "something" that we are "hiding". Whether being gay, bi, poly, pan, a sexual, our fetishes, being into bdsm, being abused, was raped, being bullied, have depression etc.
Even though being abused, was raped and so on isn't a lifestyle, it's still something that we "come out" about because there is still that fear of being judged. They are shameful secrets. Coming out can mean about anything.
So again I ask, why do we come out instead of just being who we are and have it be "normal"?

Letter To Depression
Dear Depression,
You are one of the most evil things out there. You destroy people from within. You make them not want to do anything, to think and feel the worst, like nothing will ever get better and sometimes in the end you take people's lives.
You destroy relationships, making people push others away. You create isolation and can make people sick. You make some turn to drugs and alcohol so they can try to get rid of you. You make long lasting friendships turn into dust in the wind.
You make anger and hate your best friends. You turn some people into raging demon like who cause harm to others. You have infected millions of people. You are an epidemic. Everyone reacts differently when they are infected but the outcome is still the same. You've wormed into people's heads and bury deep inside, latching on and never letting go. You are a parasite.
I hate you depression with every fiber of my being. You disgust me. Luckily some of us will fight you and come out ahead no matter how hard you try to take us down. When all is said and done, unfortunately you will always be around, whispering evil things to your victims. You are the worst.
Signed,
Your #1 hater
*Note - I was tired when I wrote this and I now I missed some things that I thought about putting in when I first came up with this idea but it's basically how I feel about depression (obviously). I'm just tired of it destroying people and how it effects everyone in some way; either personally or we know someone who has it.

Fear Runs The Planet
Fear of the unknown, scary changes, things that are not the norm, and so much more tends to run the world. We are so scared of change. We as a society become so used to something that when things should change for the better, we think it's wrong, disgusting, not normal and we should just stick to the customs that we created centuries ago. We never stop to think that things need to change especially when it comes to human rights. All of us don't have to agree with everything nor participate in everything but we do need to stop being so judgmental, scared of the unknown, refuse change, stop letting fear take over our lives and let people be who they are without judgement.
Way back when, people didn't understand a woman's period. Women had to stay in bed the whole time and it was looked at as disgusting. Times changed once we got over the fear and now we see it as a natural thing and women no longer have to stay in bed (unless they choose to from discomfort or pain). Women stayed home to take of the house while men made the money. Now, women are out there making money too. There was segregation and mixed marriages were not allowed. Now we can marry of any color (even though it is still looked down upon for some reason) and segregation is gone. There are many other examples.
We were able to get over the fear to have these things change for the better. They definitely need some work still but there has been a lot of progress. There are a lot of other things that I feel we need to get over and work on as a society. Here are my top 10.
1) Breast feeding in public - I still don't understand why this is an issue. It's a mother's duty to feed her baby. Sometimes a baby doesn't like to be covered up especially when it's hot. There is nothing wrong with it at all even in public. There is nothing nasty about it and all kids see is a mom feeding her baby. I think it's about time we let mom's breast feed in public while the rest of us just don't worry about it. We fear our kids are going to see a boob. Why? They won't think anything of it. It's only us adults that it make it a "nasty, uncomfortable" thing. We can learn a lot from kids.
2) Women going topless - I personally wouldn't do this but I think women have the right to go topless if they choose to. Men do it so why can't women? Women's boobs get to be shown but god forbid if her nipple shows. This doesn't make sense one bit. The only difference between a man's "boobs" and women's boobs is one set is flat and the other are "swollen". Also, with women, they are looked at as a sexual thing. Men's nipples are a sexual thing to women and gay men so again I say, what is the difference? I just don't see why people are so afraid of this happening.
3) Porn - Why do we see this as a dirty thing? It's not just for men and no it does not degrade women. Too much of it can ruin a relationship but so can other things if done too much. What does it matter what people watch behind closed doors and why do some try to fight it so bad? It's just sex and some couples benefit from it. Some fear it will ruin relationships (it can but so can other things), it's a sin (some how I think God doesn't care if we watch people having sex) and other fears that it may stir up in someone.
4) Pot - For years we have been told pot is bad. It's a gateway drug. Even though I agree that one shouldn't sit there and smoke it all day long and that it can damage your brain cells, I also believe that part of the chemicals in pot actually help people. Pot isn't a gateway drug. If one wants to do other drugs, they will do them whether they first start out with pot or not. Pot doesn't hurt you like drinking does. Pot should be legal everywhere. Alcohol is far more dangerous and that is legal. Pot should be used as a medical thing even to kids (not the part that makes one high obviously). Instead of not fully understanding, fearing it and going against it, we need to find out the real information about it and let people do what they need to do (or want). It can be taxed and generate more money for the states. This law finally needs to be changed everywhere including by federal law. Many people can be helped from it.
5) BDSM/Fetishes - Let me first start off with fetishes. Everyone one of us has at least one. Some can be pretty odd but why should we judge what one is into if it doesn't hurt anyone? Again there is unnecessary judgement. As for BDSM, I still don't know why this is looked down on. People still have to hide what they are into for fear of judgement and other things. Some say it's disgusting, degrading and abuse. It's never those things IF there is consent and trust. There is a difference between abuse and BDSM. There are a lot of people out there that like to be tied up, spanked (sometimes really hard), gang banged and so much more. Nobody should have to hide from the things they like. Again it's all about consent. We need to stop making these things so bad when it really isn't. Every single one of us likes something freaky in the bedroom but just on different levels. There is so much fear and not understanding when it comes to this subject.
6) LGTB and more - I've talked about this before in other blogs. But I don't think I've talked about the fear part much. We as a society are used to living a certain way. When that way changes, we become fearful of it, not understanding it and hide behind our faith using it as a reason why we don't like it and how "it's a sin". NONE of the genders or "titles" of how someone lives their personal life is wrong in anyway. We can't help what we like. Some people like mayo while others like miracle whip. It's all who we are and nothing can change that. If someone is a certain way, they shouldn't have to force themselves to be different or to "get help". We need to start letting people be themselves. It doesn't effect us.
7) Prostitution - This profession is deemed disgusting, shameful and degrading. The only place in america that it's legal is in Nevada. My question is why? If one doesn't like prostitution, then don't look for one. It's not disgusting (people have sex all the time even with people they hardly know), there is no reason why it should be shameful and it's not degrading to women if they make the choice to do it. It needs to be legal everywhere with guidelines and taxed (again can bring money to states). The men need to wear condoms at all times, the girls (or guys) need to be tested every so often and they can't be on drugs or drunk (both the customers and prostitutes). Not only could it bring in more money, it would be safer for both the customer and the workers. Like pot, it's long overdue and needs to be legal.
8) Race - Just like anything else, I don't understand why this is even an issue. More so than anything else. The color of our skin is just our pigmentation being a different color. It has nothing to do with how we are as a person and/or how someone acts. Yes there very few differences on how certain groups of people behave but none of those things are good enough reasons to group someone a a category or be racist against them. Each individual is different and should be treated as such. Judge by someone's behavior, not by the color of their skin, religion and so on. This racist crap just needs to go away. Nobody is perfect neither is one race.
9) Transgender and bathrooms - This is one of the big ones where fear steps in and tries to rule of us. I just don't it. Transgender people have been using the bathroom that they identity with since, well forever. It's just something no one has talked about or thought about until the topic was brought up. Men have been sneaking into women's bathrooms to assault them, kidnap kids etc since public bathrooms were invented. Nothing will stop them from doing it including laws. Some people don't want men in the bathrooms with their little girls but if they have to uses the bathroom that they were born with, men will still be using the bathroom with little girls but on the outside they will look different. Men don't want to use the bathroom with women but they will be if people have to use the bathroom they were born with. Either way, there is going to be a mixed gender using the same bathroom. Hell there are times I wanted to use the men's bathroom because the ladies had a really long line and I had to pee too bad. If it wasn't against the law, I would have. People just need and want a place to pee and shit. They are not there to harm anyone or to cause trouble. The reason behind people's fear on why they want it illegal for trans to use their proper bathroom is just stupid and makes no sense (reasons above). If a man really wanted to sexually abuse a female, nothing will stop them and no it will not make it easier. People just need to get over themselves, stop letting fear rule them and let trans people use the bathroom they feel comfortable with.
10)Cussing/shielding our kids - I understanding teaching kids to not cuss until they get older. I understanding not letting them watch R rated movies etc. What I don't get is shielding them from everything "bad" thinking it will harm them. They will hear bad words. There isn't anything wrong with it as long as you teach them why they are bad and why they can't use them until they are older. It's not the end of the world if they happen to see a naked body part, find out about LGTB+ people or anything else. They understand more than we give them credit. Just explain things to them. They won't be corrupted, they won't die or anything if these things happen to them. If we are too afraid to expose them to certain things and shield them, they will learn or see these things else where without anyone explaining things to them that need to be explained. Also, it will make them want to go explore certain things on their own which can be dangerous. Fear can do more harm to our kids that it can protecting them.
Enough with the judgement. With the hate and being disrespectful. We are so much better than this. There needs to be more love instead of hate. We need to stop letting our fears take control and do more logical thinking and research. Stop letting religion dictate on what we think, believe and how we live our lives. There is nothing to fear of any of these things or anything else.
Why does any of this really matter to anyone? Fear is the enemy. It's like a disease. It's the dictatorship of us. We need to stop it dead in it's tracks. Fear is ahead of the game. We have to be bigger than fear. We need to be ahead. We need to look at it in the face and squish it. Fear is ruining this world and we are letting it. Why? Fear leads to hate, leads to uncertain, discomfort, judgement and violence. Fear is evil and destroys lives. We need to start kicking it out of our lives so the bad the things that come from it will no longer control the world.
Way back when, people didn't understand a woman's period. Women had to stay in bed the whole time and it was looked at as disgusting. Listening To 911 Calls
I really don't know why I do it to myself. Maybe out of curiosity. I have only listened to a small handful of them but today I think I listened to some of the worst. I know it's never good to listen to them but I get curious then kinda wish I didn't.
One of the ones I listened to today was about a little girl calling because her step dad was beating the crap out of her mom and he also hurt the little girl's 4 year old sister. It was heart wrenching to hear the little girl crying, screaming and pleading for help. I believe this girl was 6.
The second one that made me cry was one of the 911 calls from a teacher during the columbine shooting. She survived but at one point all you hear are gun shots and someone screaming. Not only was this hard to hear but it brought back memories for me on that day.
You see, that day I was working at a Subway that was the second closest (I believe) to the high school. People and a few kids that I guess were on their lunch came in saying they couldn't get to the other Subway because streets were blocked off and there were lots of cop cars. I think there was a little traffic where we were due to things being blocked off around the school. Later that night on the news, I heard the reason why. My heart broke. It also reminded me that at any second of the day, something horrific is going on in someone's life while we are just going about our day. It also made me feel thankful and wanted to hug my kids even more because you just never know.
The other one I heard was the mass shooting at the Aurora theater. As someone was talking to the operator, you can hear nothing but gun shots in the background. It isn't hard to image the people scrambling, hiding and getting shot. I think this one hit me the hardest.
I know exactly where that theater is and have gone there before. At the time, I didn't live close to it but close enough to go there if I wanted. At one point after the incident, I did move just minutes from there and went there a lot once it re-opened. Going there for the first for me after it happened was heartbreaking.
One of my sons was a big movie goer and almost went there that night but when a couple of friends decided not to go, the plans were just canceled (he didn't drive at the time so he had to rely on his friends with cars). I thank god that he didn't go. It's crazy to think that these days you can't go anywhere without some kind of worry if someone is going to shoot up a place.
I don't know how the 911 operators do it. It must be one of the toughest jobs. To sit there and listen to something being played out and all they can do is try to keep the person on the other end calm while they try to remain calm themselves. It wouldn't surprise me if they need counseling to help get them through the day without being seriously depressed and stressed. No wonder there is a shortage of operators, it takes a certain kind of strength to have to deal with that. It doesn't include the ones who call for no reason, who are drunk and when someone decided to be an ass to them. The operators don't get enough credit and recognition that they deserve.
I'm sure I will listen to other 911 calls and continue to ask myself why. I guess it can't help put things in perspective when listening to them. We should always be thankful for what we have, treat each other with respect and tell someone that you love them because you just never know when tragedy will strike.

Abandoned Places
I love abandoned places. They way they look, what's left behind and the history/story. They also make for great photos. Unfortunately I don't know of many places that are like that around where I live. Colorado likes to take care of their empty buildings and the ones that vacant, tend to have a fence around them and a no trespassing sign. I understand why but sometimes it frustrating.
It can also be dangerous to explore these areas for different reasons. I'd still do it though. It's sad that a building or house just sits there with nothing going on when that space can be used but at the same, I think sometimes they just need to sit there. They tell a story even if one is made up by the viewer. When a lot of things are left behind, I often wonder why. What was the rush? Why couldn't they take everything? Like the buildings themselves, the stuff can just sit there and rot away instead of being put to good use by someone else. At the same time, it helps tell the story of the place and makes it that much more interesting.
I wish I knew of some places I could go to. Hell I wish I knew a photographer that had a car and I felt comfortable with to check out these places (and other "normal" places) and do some photography both during the day and night. I just them beautiful. I guess for now I will just have to stick to seeing photos from other photographers and youtube videos.

LGTB - Not The Only Misunderstood
We have come a long way in life with excepting other people's differences. Some of those progresses include allowing women to vote and having them earn a living as well, blacks have rights, mixed marriages are legal (although sometimes still looked down on) and now the LGTB community have their rights to marry and so on. Other countries are slowly stepping up. This is all great and I hope I live to see every country have equal rights and marriage.
With the LGTB community getting more accepted, other things/people still get looked down upon. It not only boggles my mind that we CARE SO MUCH what goes on behind closed doors of other people's lives. Just because we don't understand something, don't agree or it's not for us, some of us think its wrong, disgusting and nobody should ever do it.
In this blog I want to break down other groups and talk about it. These things should be talked about instead of being hidden and stop being made to feel like these things/lifestyles are bad and dirty. I hate labels. I hate that we have to use them and that we feel the need to label everything and everyone. I am starting to realize that EVERYTHING has a label of some sort and we do need them to describe something or someone. So listed below is everything I can think of and I talk a little about each one. To get everything out there and to make us really think about things.
Genders - People who are born (yes born) a certain way, feel a certain way towards another and feel about themselves.
Gay/Lesbian - Same sex relationships. There are so many different reasons why some people don't support this. We are well on our way for this being accepted but we still have a lot of work to do. We have had ingrained in our heads that it's one man, one woman.
Straight - Obvious, opposite sex relationships. Still to a lot of people, this is normal.
Bi-Sexual - One can fall in love with either sex. The issues are the same as gay/lesbian. There are some issues though that they that gays don't. I keep seeing that bi's tend to get a little more hate for different reasons.
Transgender - When one feels like they are in the wrong body. This is some ways falls under the same as the other but I think there is more issues with this. It seems like some people have a harder time understanding transgender and they are having issues with marriage and stuff like what restrooms to use and when filling out paper work that ask for gender. They can feel even more isolated than bi and gays because it's harder for them to fit in to either sex especially if they haven't had surgeries. I can't imagine what it's like to have feelings of being in the wrong body and to have people look at you funny. There is still a longer ways to go for the trans community.
Lifestyle Choices - People who for some reason like/love what they like/love and choose to do. I guess in some way they too are born this way because one can never know WHY they like or hate something, they just do. At the same time, it's also a choice.
Porn - Watching scripted sex on the web, DVD's, stories and photos of naked people. So many people have issues with this and think pron is dirty and degrading. I don't understand why. It's just sex. There is nothing wrong with sex. There is nothing wrong with the human body. If one wants to show it off in photos, who are we to say no. Sex is enjoyable and some love to have to have it often so why not make money from it? It's not degrading at all. It's providing entertainment and sometimes helps couples explore different things to spice up their sex lives. As long as the adults making the videos consent, use protection and are treated well, there is nothing degrading or wrong. Nobody is making people watch it. I just don't know why this is considered dirty and wrong. Women are not being used as sex objects just like men are not being used as sex objects.
Stripping - For some reason this is another "dirty" thing. It seems to be more ok for men to strip than it is for women to strip but it's more of a secret for women to enjoy strippers (male or female) than it is for males to enjoy it. Men think women go ridiculously nuts at male strippers but yet they can get pretty bad themselves. Women get to strip all the way but guys can only strip down to their g-strings. First, again it's not degrading for women to strip. If men can do it, so can women. There is nothing wrong with at it all. Men like looking at women and women like looking at men. It's human nature for us so why not let there be money made from it? The only things I find wrong is that how some women get treated in the industry and that men can't strip all the way down. It's just bull. People shouldn't be ashamed for stripping and it really shouldn't be looked down on. If one doesn't like it, do go to one.
Posing Nude - This can be for art, for some kind of advertisement (books, advertise a sex toy etc) or just entertainment. Again, we like to look at the human naked body whether we want to admit it or not. It's in our nature. There is nothing wrong with it one bit. The human body can be an art form. This is also looked as dirty for some reason. If men do it, it's ok but if women do it, it's wrong. I will never understand this way of thinking. It really isn't right. If it's good for one sex, it's good for the other.
Sex For Money - Hookers/prostitutes, call girls etc. There are different names if this type of business and a lot of people see it as dirty and wrong. Nevada is the only state where it's legal (at least in some parts). I don't see why it can't be legal in other places. If it was, things can be more controlled. Women wouldn't be abused by their pimps, the drugs and STD's would be controlled so much better, overall, it would be better for women (and men) if it's was legal and controlled. It's not degrading either. Yes there are better jobs out there but sometimes it's very very difficult to get those jobs even with a good education. Sometimes life happens and one must do something to make money even for short term. Yes some get into it that wish they weren't but if it was a better environment and was to keep their money, they might feel a little better and could use the money they get to make their life better. This being another dirty secret doesn't help. It is up to everyone to decide what they want to do with their own bodies and they shouldn't be looked down upon for it. It's not shameful. The taxes from it could also help our states. We need to stop making this a dirty thing and make it legal everywhere and more safe for the women that do it.
Sex Toys - This is a hidden dirty secret that a lot of people feel ashamed about and feel they need to hide their sex toys (maybe not for all but enough). I don't get this either. Sex toys are not a dirty thing. It helps bring excitement and if one one doesn't have a partner, well there are toys to help satisfy yourself. Yet if someone was to find out that someone has them, it's looked at as gross and or weird.
Masturbation - Yes someone doesn't need to go around and talk about what they do to please themselves or if they do it but why is it shameful? Why do we make it to be so dirty? It feels good to have that sexual pleasure and if you don't have a partner or just can't find someone to have sex with, why not give yourself that release? Our bodies need that release (if we are not A sexual). Plus, it's good to know your body and what you like. Just about everyone does it so why is it dirty?
Lifestyles - People who are born this way and really feel about what they do. It's a need not a want in their life and they can't change it just like how one can't change their who they love (LGTB).
BDSM - I won't go too deep into this since I wrote a blog about it already. This is kinky sex/play: spanking, blindfold, restraints/tie up, needle play, wax play, and so many other things. So many look down on this kind of thing. They think it's wrong, abuse and disgusting behavior. I think this needs to be talked about more because there is nothing wrong doing kinky things to bring pleasure. Some things I don't understand how someone can get into a head-space by certain things but who am I to judge.
Pan-Sexual - When someone doesn't care the gender of someone, they can love any gender. This could also be in the genders. They see themselves for who they are but their love for someone has no gender. Male, female, trans; they don't care.
Polyandrous -When someone is in love or has a certain love for more than one person; a relationship with more than one person basically. Yes people can be born this way too. It's not a choice. People fall in love with more than one person and it doesn't make it the love any less. This isn't for anybody but if people are in this kind of relationship, there is nothing wrong as long as everyone agrees with it and there are no secrets etc.
Poly-Sexual- This is like polyandrous but isn't so focus on the relationship part as much. "Polysexuality is the attraction to multiple genders and/or sexes. A polysexual person is one "encompassing or characterized by many different kinds of sexuality."
Open Relationships - When a couple decides to date other people but still be involved with each other. I've heard different reasons why some couples do this. This doesn't work for everyone but I guess for some it does.
Monogamous - When someone wants to be with only one person at a time. This is considered to be the "normal" way of life yet there are too many cheaters.
Polygamy - When a man has more than one wife. This usually happens in religions. I think the only ones I see to be a bad thing is when they are in cults but consider to be religious and have abuse and controlling going on (like the FLDS). If everyone consents and there are no abuse and controlling going on, I don't see what they issue is.
A Sexual - When people are not interested in sex at all with anybody. I'm sure people that are A sexual get a lot of heat. Like any other person, they can't help what they are not into. They are who they are.
Swingers - When couples hook up with other couples. I'm sure there are different ways it happens like all four people together, they just switches partners for a night or whatever it is they agree on. I guess this would be more of lifestyle choices. I'm not sure. I haven't done much research on this (mostly due to personal reasons). Whether it's an actual choice or it's just who they are. I still don't see what the harm is if everyone consents to it. There's nothing wrong with it one bit.
All of these things/people get looked down upon for some reason. What's wrong is judging people for who they are. We as humans can't help what we like or are into, it's just the way we are born. Just because some may not agree or like it, doesn't make it wrong or disgusting. I am sure there are other lifestyles out there that I didn't list but that doesn't mean it's less important.
We need to not just fight for LGTB, but for everyone who is different than the "average" person. Every single person deserves to be happy and to live their life without judgement. If you really think about it, there is a little bit of these things already inside of all of us. There are just some that are more into certain things than others. We may never know why some people are into certain things or are a certain way; the brain is a very mysterious thing. There is one thing I do know and that's that we are born the way we are period. The only thing that we are not born with is prejudice, hate and with judgement. Those things are taught to us. It's about time we are free as humans with no fear to be ourselves.
These things will never lead to sex with animals, sex or marriage to kids, our kids won't be harmed by these things. Marriage won't and can't be harmed either, only cheating, abuse, divorce etc destroys marriages. Religion doesn't play apart in these things either especially since everyone has a different belief. Man brought religion into everything to try and justify how they live and what they believe. I could go more into this but I won't. I just think it's about time we start talking everything that's out there and be more open about life. Stop the hate and lets be free to be who we really are.

The Wiz, Star Wars & Superman - The 3 Movies That Blew Me Away
A lot of people talk about how that one movie they saw when they were a kid, made an impact in their lives in some way or just blew them away. There are three movies that blew me away when I first saw them. They didn't really change me, I just got lost in them and made me go "WOW".
The Wiz - My dad is a huge Diana Ross and old Motown fan. I grew up listening to them including Michael Jackson. He found out they re-made 'The Wizard Of Oz' with all black cast called 'The Wiz'. A lot of famous people are in that movie including Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Knowing I was into MJ, my dad and mom took me to see the movie in theaters. I got lost in the movie and was blown away by the performances everyone did. This was also when I found out MJ was real. I can't believe I'm about to admit this but when I was a kid and MJ's album 'Off The Wall' came out, I didn't think he was real. I have no clue why I thought weird things like this but I did. I thought it was somebody else singing pretending to be MJ. Anyways, I thought the movie and acting was very powerful. The parts with the munchkins dancing and towards the end when everyone was singing 'Brand new day', I wanted to dance like they were. The wicked witch was a little scary for me but my dad made it less scary with some words. During the start when Dorthy was introduced, I knew how she was feeling and during the end during the very powerful performance by Diana Ross, It made me cry and still does. Till' this day, I think that was her best performance ever. I still love the movie just as much as when I first saw it and I still get some of those same feelings I did when I was a kid.
Star Wars #4 - My dad was friends with this guy who had a couple of kids that would visit him almost every weekend. This guy lived in the same apartments as we did. I have been to the movies with them a few times. I think this was the first time I went with them. When I first heard about it, I didn't think I would like it. Boy was I wrong. Once again I was lost in the movie and amazed at what was in front of me. I never saw special effects like that, C3PO and R2D2 were funny and I had a crush on Chewy. Yes I said it. I was a little, what do you expect? lol I just feel in love with the movie. I ended up get the album soundtrack but when I got older, I got rid of it! I'm kicking myself now for doing that. I also had a Darth Vader action figure but I chewed on the lightsaber till it was almost nothing. I really was a weird kid. Now, I still love the movies (4, 5 and 6). I like episodes 1, 2 and 3 but they don't do it for me like the older ones. Part of it is a childhood thing. I am such a nerd and want 'Star Wars' toys. I do have a 32" Darth Vader and a potato head Vader. I need more :P I can't wait for the new one.
Superman - I didn't see this in theaters but I wish I did. My parents went to a friends house and took me with them. They were about to watch the 'Superman' movie on tv. It was the first time it was shown on tv. I didn't know about comic books but I did watch the Spider-Man cartoon on tv every weekend, the Batman tv show and Superfriends. At first I was kinda bored but when Lois fell out of the helicopter and Superman saved her, I was hooked. I thought Christopher Reeve was handsome with those blue eyes. I still think he is/was. Now that I am older, I see the wrong things in any Superman movie/tv but I still very much enjoy them. That night what I thought would be a boring night, turn into a very entertaining one.
These movie are awesome classics. They didn't change my life but I was very much fascinated with them. 'The Wiz' was the closest that made me feel the things I was feeling in my life at the time so I guess it made me feel like I wasn't alone. Even though the other two didn't touch me emotionally like 'The Wiz', they are still a big part of my life in other ways.

What The Hell Is Wrong With This World?
I think as I read more and more articles or even just see the headlines, I become more and more disgusted with society. I realize when I was growing up, it was hard to see the world around me for different reasons but I did watch the news sometimes and I never heard about some of the things that I hear about today. Part of it is due to having the web which makes news things easier to read/see and for people to show their true colors.
Schools - I keep hearing so many different things about them and yet no matter how hard they try, issues are not being fixed. It's disgusting to see/hear how a school suspends a kid for something really stupid, bullying doesn't get dealt with in the right manner, teachers (some) are just as bad when it comes to bullying and so on. When did our schools become so judgmental? Aren't they supposed to help kids? Why are they trying to teach our kids crap that should only be taught in college? Why do they spend money on crap so there isn't enough for kids and teachers? When is someone going to REALLY fix these issues?
Lifestyles - Why are we so concerned about this? What does it matter to use if someone decides to live their life a certain way that doesn't effect us? We are we so quick to judge and fight over things that don't matter? I'm glad people are not so afraid to talk about certain things anymore. But the more we talk about certain lifestyles, the more negative crap comes out. It seems like every time we don't understand something, the claws come out and people are called names and so on. What happened to love, respect and let others be? I'm not just talking about the LGTB community. This goes for any life style. The second we think something is disgusting, we think it's wrong and judge others yet we get pissed if someone judges us for something.
Religion - This is a big part. It seems like because of this thing called religion, we are fighting over the most stupid things. Because of this, there is war, terrorism, "war on Christmas" and so many other things. People (when I say stuff like this, I don't mean all people, just the ones that do these things) tend to use their religion for everything; their choices, how they treat/judge others and anything else in their life. It's like they can't have a mind of their own and come up with their own thoughts and feelings about things. It's like they are too afraid too. They think because this is how their life should be lived, that everyone needs to do the same. I just don't get this.
Racism - Why does this still exist? Why do we continue to judge someone by the color of their skin? We are all human. We are all the same. Yes different cultures and race can behave differently but that doesn't mean we need to judge people or a group of people without knowing them personally. Not every is in the same in cultures and race. I will never get this.
The Race Card - Some people automatically play the race card when something happens. Why go there? Things happen because they happen. If someone is an ass then gets treated the same way, it's because that one person was being ass. If someone doesn't get their way it's because of their race. Someone gets hurt or killed, it's because of their race. Really? The stupid plays a big part in all of this but how they say things and what they say. It's disgusting behavior.
Shootings (mostly in schools) - Bad things happened when my generation was in school but nothing like today. It's weird; in the 70's, 80's and before, kids didn't have numbers to call, places to go etc when they needed someone to listen to them and when they felt bad and yet we got through it. Yes there was your crimes, drugs etc but nothing like today. Today, kids have different numbers to call when they need to talk, more choices of where to go when they need help, positive songs and other ways to deal with the bad in life; yet we hear about school shootings. Why is it with more things to help people who need it, instead of using them, they shoot?
I will never understand these things. Love, respect and understanding is so much better than hate and violence. I'm not a hippie, it just makes more sense.

A Joke - Mr. Frog
I don't remember where I got this joke from since it's been a long time but I thought I would share it sine it's pretty funny
Once upon a time there was a frog who lived in a lake all by himself. He had been given special powers by a local witch.
One day he finally ventured out of the lake to get his first glimpse of the world outside.
The first thing he saw was a bear chasing a rabbit and so he called out to them and asked them to stop. Then he said to them, "I am a magical frog and since you are the first two animals I have ever seen, I am going to grant you both three wishes. You'll each take turns using them and you have to use them now."
The bear (being greedy) went first, "I would like for every bear in this forest to be female except for me."
A magical sound and it was done.
Then the rabbit, "I would like a helmet."
This confused both the frog and the bear but after a magical sound, there was a helmet.
It was the bear's turn again. "I would like for every bear in the neighboring forest to be female."
A magical sound and it was done.
The rabbit went again, "I would like a motorcycle."
Both the frog and the bear wondered why the rabbit didn't just ask for a lot of money with which he could buy himself a motorcycle but after awhile there was a magical sound and there was a motorcycle.
The bear took his last wish. "I would like for all the bears in the world to be female except for me."
A magical sound and it was done.
The rabbit then put on his helmet, started up the motorcycle and said "I wish the bear was gay." and took off like a bat out of hell

To Keep A Baby Or Not...
So I am finally catching up on 'The Walking Dead'. I'm on season 2 right now and a question came up that got me thinking and wondering what would I do.
A character found out that she is pregnant. She tried to take some morning after pills but threw them up by choice. Her husband found the pills and they got into an argument. She is still thinking about trying to get rid of it while he wants to keep it.
So the question is: In the middle of a zombie apocalypse where humans are scarce, no medical treatments are available, hardly any meds, hardly any safe shelter (if any really), always fighting for your life, every sound draws them near; do you keep the baby or not if you (or your partner) ends up pregnant?
In a normal situation, I personally wouldn't have an abortion unless the baby's life was in critical danger. I don't judge when others do it but this is my choice. If there is a zombie apocalypse, technically the baby's life would be in constant critical danger. Every time it cries, it would run a risk of drawing the zombies in. It will need medical help at some point and there wouldn't be any. Food and water would be scarce. You would always be on the run even if you found a "stable" place to stay (you will still be at risk especially when going out for supplies). You also don't know if there is a cure or if there will ever be one.
To keep the human race going, one needs to have babies but would this be a safe environment to raise a kid and would it be worth it? How could one raise a kid like that? On the other hand, there could still be a chance of survival for the human race and for the baby.
This is a really hard choice for me (thank God I don't have to actually make it) and I really don't know what I would want to do. I can strongly see both sides to this and both are very good arguments and would apply to any kind of end of the world/apocalypse. This is one decision I would not want to make and hope I never have to.
